MMA Chiropractors was established in Florida in 1989 by Michael McGurn, D.C. He is a second-generation chiropractor with thirteen chiropractors in his family.
Dr. McGurn was raised in Southern New Jersey and graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1980. He has maintained successful practices in New Jersey and Florida since 1981. He founded Michael McGurn, D.C. & Associates (MMA) as he saw the need for a quality temporary and associate placement service for chiropractors in the U.S.

We believe you should never close your office. Here are some great reasons for leaving your office open:

We screen and assess each candidate to meet the needs of your clinic and patients. We require three years or more of clinical adjusting experience. We look for substitute chiropractors who possess advanced skills and education, including:
- Special technique certifications
- Chiropractic college instruction experience
- Advanced certifications or graduate-level courses
We rarely hire new graduates unless they are exceptional chiropractors. We also maintain a backup if an illness or emergency should arise with the cover doctor assigned to your clinic.
Yes! All of our chiropractic physicians are licensed, experienced and maintain their own malpractice insurance (unless otherwise noted). We also perform background screenings for state board disciplinary actions and malpractice claims.
Our temporary coverage fee depends on several factors:
- The number of patients our chiropractic physician treats
- The length of temporary coverage
- Your office hours
- Your location
We offer half day and full day rates. Call our office to request a no-obligation free quote.
In some cases, there is a $80 per night motel charge and/or fuel charge (minimal) if a local substitute chiropractor is not available. The substitute doctor and MMA Chiropractors will handle motel arrangements. On some occasions, IF all parties agree, the client may provide personal accommodations for the substitute doctor.
You can call us 7 days a week. We can make arrangements for a chiropractic physician to be at your office within 24 hours or less, depending on your location and our chiropractor availability at the time. Although not necessary, we prefer 4-8 weeks notice to reserve prime convention, holiday and summer dates. This notice will also allow you to request a specific chiropractic physician who may have previously covered your practice, or allow time for a personal orientation with a different substitute chiropractor.
In most instances, yes. When scheduling permits, the substitute chiropractic physician can provide up to a 90-minute free consultation prior to covering your practice. For contracts less than three days in duration, or short notice, a telephone consultation will be provided. There is no charge for the personal orientation, however, your contract must be signed and faxed to us first. Your deposit will not be due until after the initial phone consultation or personal orientation. If you are not satisfied with the doctor provided, we will arrange a different cover doctor for a phone consultation or personal orientation.
Yes! In most cases we have chiropractic physicians that are proficient in practically all of the techniques used.
With all our substitute chiropractic physicians, we work on a contractual basis. Our contract requires the chiropractic physician to perform within certain guidelines, one of which is to be at the specified place on schedule. Our chiropractic physicians are dependable!
Our chiropractic physicians will provide the same services that are normally available when you are present, in accordance with the state scope of practice and the individual substitute chiropractic physician’s skills, training and certification. These services include therapy, examination, x-rays and adjustments.
MMA Chiropractors is responsible for any and all financial arrangements with substitute chiropractic physicians, as per our individual contracts.

No payment is due until you confirm a doctor. For your convenience, we accept all major credit cards and checks.
